In the recent past, HDMI has gained a lot of popularity among people making it a typical audio and video connection for high-definition home theater equipment. Each HDTV comes with minimum two HDMI inputs and electronic gadgets like DVRs, DVD players, game consoles, blu-ray players and computer feature HDMI outputs for perfect video and audio quality. In such a scenario having only one HDMI cable which performs the functions of handling images and sound both comes as a prospective to make home theaters easier. The full form of HDMI stands for High-Definition Multimedia Interface and the name itself gives us an insight into the description about the product.
In simple words, HDMI can be described as a kind of digital connection which is able to transmit high definition video and high-resolution audio both through a single cable. If a person has to perform the same action with analog cables then they shall require connecting three component video cables along with six analog audio cables which only means a clutter of cables. Typically, HDMI is used for connecting high definition device like HD DVR to an HDTV. A connection can be easily established by connecting one end of the cable to the HDTV’s HDMI input and other end to the device’s output slot. It can transmit the best picture quality compared to other cables. There are certain drawbacks to such HDMI cables which include complex standards, perplexing buzzwords and extremely high priced lead to the buyers being forced to opt for simpler analogue cables.
